A mountain with a name older than the village.
Menalo spreads from the Tripoli plateau to the gorge of the Lousios, and from Lake Ladon to Megalopoli. Its fir forest draws people to Vitina: green in spring and summer, white in winter, with tall trees and small streams between.
The name is ancient Greek. It means the sacred frenzy of nature, the gift that wild places bring.

02 From the house
Every room faces it.
Vitina House is built in tiers on the lower slope of Menalo, and every room looks towards the mountain. When the weather allows, step out on the balcony.
When it does not, watch from beside the fire as cloud settles on the tops of the trees higher up.
